Retail is one of the fastest recovering industries in the U.S.  To excel in retail, an individual must be great at customer service, organization, and time management. All business that sell products and services require retail associates to interact with customers and promote products. Retail employers include clothing, accessory, and general merchandise stores.

Jobs in retail include: cashier, sales, loss prevention and store managers. Employment growth in this industry will be steady with an expected 11% increase over the next several years. Wholesale clubs and superstores will continue to expand, providing additional jobs in the retail market. As employment in large department stores slows, discount department store employment will experience growth.
